Director of Food & Beverage Patrick Gioannini, who oversees the hotel’s food and beverage operations, shares his ideal day in New York City with his wife and 9 year old twins.
I love making breakfast. I pick up fresh eggs and challah bread the night before from the Union Square Greenmarket and make up omelets and French toast for the kids.
Saturdays are the best days in the city for kids. The Museum of Natural History has amazing hands-on exhibits, games and entertainment.
A day in New York with kids isn’t complete without pizza. My favorite and the best Pizza in New York City is at Motorino on 12th street and 1st Avenue.
We love being outside, so we head to Central Park to race our bicycles and stop to watch the street performers. Once we’ve tired ourselves we stop for authentic Gelatos at Grom from my hometown in Torino, Italy.
We head down to Chelsea Market for an espresso pick-me-up at 9th Street Espresso. From there we take a walk down the Highline to the Meatpacking District and check out the shops and the new art gallery exhibits.
The kids love the interactive nature of sushi so we stop at Morimoto for the city’s most inventive molecular Japanese cuisine and of course the amazing desserts.
Before heading back home, we stop at Eataly to pick up cookies and pastries for movie night.
Served for Afternoon Tea in Lobby Lounge, Executive Pastry Chef Paul Nolan’s famous signature Ginger Scones are the ultimate finish for your own afternoon tea.

Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Oil Free Moisturizer I don’t use a lot of makeup, but this is my go-to moisturizer. It gives me light coverage and sun protection, which is extremely important now that it’s getting warmer! Bobbi Brown
Kara Ross’ jewelry design started at the age of 13, with a trip to Africa and a piece of native tourmaline. She created a square cut ring from the stone and surrounded it with diamonds set on an 18k gold band. She never lost the touch.
Now a Gemological Institute of America certified gemologist, Ross has spent five years designing elegant pieces with character and imagination. Prompted by a need for uniqueness and inspired by alternative materials such as marcasite, lava and chalcedony, Ross creates the types of pieces you would expect to find at a bazaar- with the luxury of a master jeweler.
