I wrote a few weeks about the tragedy of the Costa Concordia and how owner Carnival Corp needed to show responsibility for what happened. Now another Costa ship, Allegra, has lost power of the coast of the Seychelles.
In November, 2010, another Carnival ship, Carnival Splendor, also lost power off of the coast of Mexico and had to be towed to port.
A few days ago, a shore excursion in Mexico for passengers aboard Carnival Splendor were robbed at gunpoint.
Carnival has the obligation to the traveling public, to it’s shareholders and to the travel industry to manage themselves responsibly. If they don’t they’ll find out soon enough by less booking, a lower stock price and travel agents considering other options for their clients.
