On our way home from Miraval Resort & Spa, we spent a quick night in Scottsdale, not too far from the Phoenix airport.
Had a great dinner at Richardson’s, an eclectic mix of Tex Mex and other cuisine with my BFF childhood friend author Bambi Vincent and her celebrity pick-pocket husband Bob Arno.
Also spent a great time in total luxury at the Canyon Suites. Built in the mid 90s and adjacent to the Phoenician Resort, this is primarily an all suite property with view to Camelback Mountain and the pool or to the golf course and to the wilds of Southern Arizona.

Our suite was 1,200 square feet, quite contemporary and very pleasant. The lobby was similarly very modern and new – a small hotel.
The bed was super comfortable with the fluffiest comforter, wonderfully appropriate despite the 106 degree weather outside. The bathroom was huge with walk in rain-shower, a big bath tub and a double marble sink.   Wifi and valet parking are included in the rates. [and of course if you book with us, as always with most top hotels and resort, we throw in something – here’s it’s breakfast for 2, a $100 food and beverage credit and late checkout if available.

The hotel has it’s own pool, but all dining is next door at the Phoenician, either a 2 minute walk or Mercedes ride away.  As part of the larger resort, you have access to the restaurants, pool and other facilities. The place is huge so you have to be in the mood to explore outside Canyon Suites.
