Last week’s post was from the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como as you may remember, but if you missed it, you can read it here.
Before I made it up to Como, and then Zurich & Vienna, I spent a (way too short) weekend in the paradise of this old Tuscan hotel which has been lovingly restored over the last 15 or so years by British and Italian owners (and couple) Phillip and Paolo. This place is chill, it’s beautiful, it’s friendly, the food is amazing and the 3 dogs are way too cute.
From the back yard,
(pool, tennis, olive trees, chill space) you can look across the valley to Cortona and then to Umbria beyond. I’d tell you more but I didn’t spend enough time there, but if you want a non-hotel, very relaxed place to be, this is it. Rooms were not lacking and the views as you can see from the photos are amazing.
You’ll want to have a car, as you’ll need to get out for dinner as they don’t serve everyday. They have a ‘dinner party’ twice a week and you can order pizza in. The nearest large town is Arezzo, but there are other villages nearby. And there’s Florence.
